Kottayam ∙ Sudhi went to Kollam to erase the laughter of her loved ones. The funeral of actor and TV and stage show artist Kollam Sudhi, who died in a car accident, was held yesterday at 4 pm at Thottakkad Reformed Anglican Church of India Cemetery.
The dead body was kept for public viewing for an hour from 9 am at Panthirupara house in Ponganthanam. Public darshan was arranged at Ponganthanam MD UP School, where Sudhi’s son Rithul studies, and at St. Matthew’s Knanaya Church Auditorium, Vakathanam. A large number of people came here to pay their last respects to the beloved actor.
Mimicry – Friends and colleagues from the film industry paid their last respects. Vakathanam panchayat officials, Ponganthanam school teachers and PTA members recalled how Sudhi Sahay came to the school camp during the flood.
When Sudhi was laid to rest in a suit and pants, his wife Reshma cried out loud asking ‘Why is Sudhi wearing new clothes’ and brought tears to everyone’s eyes. Relatives said that Sudhi was generally not interested in wearing new clothes. Representing the state government, Govt. Chief Whip N. Jayaraj offered the last rites.
