Fatal Stabbing in Staten Island: A Tragic Crime Scene Unveils Links to Drugs and Violence

Jonathan Winokur, a 38-year-old man, was stabbed to death in Staten Island (NYC) and his girlfriend of the victim described the crime scene as a drug den and blamed a dealer for the murder.

Winokur suffered multiple stab wounds to the entire body at a home on Union Ave. near Richmond Terrace in Mariners Harbor around 10:40 p.m. Sunday, according to police.

His girlfriend, Elizabeth Ferone, believes that Winokur was killed by a drug dealer and told the Daily News that the attacker “probably out of his mind.”

Ferone, 35, said her boyfriend He often went to the house where he was stabbed to buy marijuana and that Sunday’s attack was not the first time his drug supplier had threatened him with a knife. He claimed to have witnessed a previous incident in which the victim and his trafficker “began to fight” and the seller he went after Winokur “with a knife.”

A 58-year-old man described by police as a person of interest was detained at the scene and was being questioned. “The police come…it’s something that happens almost daily,” said a man who lives next door to the crime scene. “It is a house with problems. They are always… yelling at each other, insulting each other.”

Winokur He worked as a security guard and left two children aged 5 and 7 as orphans, according to his cousin, who only identified himself as William.
