Saturday afternoon, the police and the emergency services intervened for a serious glider accident at the Maubray aerodrome. Unfortunately, Laurent Vincicot, a 48-year-old Mouscronnois, died instantly.

Frédéric, a longtime friend of the pilot originally from Mouscron, still can’t believe it. “I saw on Sudinfo that a glider accident had occurred in Maubray, I directly thought of Laurent but as he was not the only one to pilot in this club, I said to myself that it was surely someone else. It wasn’t until I received a text message from his girlfriend the day after the accident that I realized my friend was gone. »

As a reminder, the accident occurred on the take-off and landing runway at Maubray aerodrome on Saturday afternoon, around 3:45 p.m. The glider crashed to the ground during the take-off phase.
