FC Nantes Concludes Pink October Campaign

FC Nantes concluded its Pink October campaign, netting 3,000 euros for the fight against breast cancer through a dedicated goal-scoring initiative alongside local partnerships, matching merchandise sales, and fan engagement efforts at the Stade de la Beaujoire.

A Collector’s Jersey and Successful Sales

For the first time in its history, the club partnered with equipment manufacturer Macron, who has been the club’s equipment manufacturer since 2020, to release an exclusive pink jersey. The pastel pink kit featured a distinct jacquard weave incorporating abstract pink ribbons. Eight embroidered pink ribbons replaced the eight stars symbolizing the number of French championships won by the club in its history. Maroon trim on the sleeves and shorts provided a sharp contrast to the soft pink palette.

The collector’s item proved popular, selling out entirely within two weeks of its release. Half of the profits from these retail sales are earmarked for local Nantes-based associations Madame S and Ma Parenthèse, alongside the FC Nantes Endowment Fund and its Football Cœur de Nantes program, which supports the regional medical sector.

Players, Families, and Fan Zone Mobilization

The campaign spanned multiple fixtures throughout October. The women’s squad debuted the special kit on October 3 against Montpellier, followed by the men’s squad wearing the jerseys during matches against Reims on October 10 and Dunkerque on October 17.

Off the pitch, the campaign engaged supporters through multiple community activations. The companions of professional players organized a promotional photoshoot at the Bistrot du port in Trentemoult to showcase the pink shirts. In the Fan Zone during the Reims and Dunkerque fixtures, the club set up dedicated prevention spaces where supporters participated in tactile screening workshops using medical manikins alongside association volunteers. Additional contributions to the campaign came from partners including Eat Is Family and Sodexo, as well as a floral arrangement created in the Fan Zone by Marie Fleur and seven students from the Intelligence Apprentie school.

Matchday Experiences at La Beaujoire

Matchdays brought patients directly into the stadium experience. Eleven individuals affected by the illness attended the Reims fixture through the FC Nantes Endowment Fund and Ma Parenthèse, participating in a private yoga session and walking out onto the pitch alongside the players before kickoff. Additionally, representatives from Madame S and a person affected by the illness participated in a ceremonial kickoff to mark the occasion.

The club also auctioned 42 match-worn jerseys alongside sales of a specially designed Pink October scarf. As a partner of the FC Nantes women’s team, Minoterie Bourseau also mobilized by committing to donate 500 € for every goal scored by the women’s team during the month of October. A formal presentation will soon see the club hand over the gathered funds to representatives from Madame S and Ma Parenthèse.
