Ferrari F1 reports that the 2023 F1 machine has achieved a time improvement of more than 1 second[F1-Gate.com]

Scuderia Ferrari’s 2023 F1 machine has improved performance by more than a second in Maranello’s simulator compared to last year’s model, Italian media reports.

Last year Ferrari failed to maximize the performance of the F1-75. Budget caps had run out of money to develop the car, and the engine was reportedly unable to run at full power due to reliability issues with the ignition system that sprayed fuel into the combustion chamber.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Ferrari has already added 30 horsepower due to reliability improvements allowed in F1 power units.

Also, according to Formu1a.uno, Ferrari’s 2023 F1 machine, which is being developed as Project 675, has achieved a time improvement of 1 second compared to F1-75 in the simulator.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether the information from the simulator matches the actual performance on track, but at least the noise from Maranello is positive.

Ferrari will announce the 2023 F1 machine on Valentine’s Day on February 14th. Previously, it was reported that the launch would take place in Imola, but Formu1a.uno says it will take place in Maranello.

In fact, time is running out to sort out the logistics of the presentation. Production of the 2023 car has been delayed, but the factory is calm and, in fact, says its optimization work is perfect.

Scuderia Ferrari will continue to be driven by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz in 2023, but the team representative will change from Mattia Binotto to Frédéric Vasseur and enter the season with a new system.

But nothing has changed in the technical side of the team so far.

Enrico Gualtieri remains responsible for engine development, including the design of Ferrari’s future power unit, which will be produced according to F1’s 2023 engine regulations.

However, Enrico Gualtieri is now backed by Davide Mazzoni, who returned to Ferrari last November after spending several years at Maserati to focus on the internal combustion engine of the 2023-spec F1 power unit.

According to Formu1a.uno, Ferrari’s efforts have been largely aimed at improving durability after last year’s series of reliability issues, with engineers conducting lengthy sessions on the Maranello test bench, and the results as a guarantee of “cautious optimism”.
