Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail – Exciting Announcements, New Expansions, and Xbox Series Release

The pandemic has prevented Square Enix from hosting a Final Fantasy XIV fan festival for the past few years, so the Japanese company decided to revive it with a number of exciting announcements. Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail is certainly the highlight, as this will be the game’s fifth major expansion when it arrives next summer. It will take us into the neotropical world called Tural, where majestic mountains, lush forests and clear blue waters await us as we leave our new central city, Tullar. Exploring these areas may inspire you to change up your character a bit, which is why the expansion will also offer two new DPS classes with the option to wear glasses and place two dyes on each gear, making major graphical improvements and implementing new gear . That’s not to say we’re just enjoying ourselves carefree in the world, as Tular has some new enemy types. On top of that promises new allied tribes (including the return of Pelu Pelu), a level cap increase from 90 to 100, new dungeons, new core combat content (such as fate, hunting, side quests, and treasure hunting), Updates to duty support and new raids, and there’s definitely a lot to be excited about. Not that we have to wait until 2024 to see something exciting. Phil Spencer also took to the stage to reveal that Final Fantasy XIV is finally coming to the Xbox series. The official release won’t happen until next spring, but there will be a public beta when patch 6.5 is released this fall. It’s then rather fitting that the free trial will also expand to include Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood and everything up to update 4.58 around the same time. Look forward to finding out more about it all when Fanfest comes to London on October 21st. In the meantime, check out the trailer and images below to get a better look at Dawntrail.
