O Firefox was updated this week to version 125.0.1, bringing some new features that should improve the usability of the browser. Added support for the AV1 codec for Encrypted Media Extensions (EME), which should improve video playback when using such extensions.

Additionally, Firefox’s PDF reader now supports a simple but very useful feature: text highlighting. The new feature is being released progressively and allows you to highlight parts of the file’s text with different colors and thicknesses.

With the update, Firefox View also now displays pinned tabs in the Open Tabs section and tab indicators have been added to Open tabs. This way, users can perform actions such as seeing which tabs are playing media and quickly turning sound on or off in windows. There are also other new features, such as indicators for favorites and tabs with notifications.

In the United States and Canada, the browser now prompts users to save addresses after filling out a form with that information. With this, Firefox will be able to automatically fill in this data in the future. The application also gained greater proactivity in the feature of blocking URLs considered potentially untrustworthy.

Another new feature is the Paste URL Suggestion feature, which allows users to see, in the address bar, links that are in the clipboard. When there is a copied URL and the address bar is accessed, a suggestion to fill in the copied link will appear; When you accept it, the website will open.

Additionally, when using tab-specific container addons, you can search the address bar for tabs open in other containers. Firefox also now allows enabling Web Proxy Auto-Discovery (WPAD) when configured to use system proxy settings.

There are also security fixes, as well as a change in the way the keys work. In a radio button group, when no option is selected, the key tab now only reaches the first option, instead of cycling through all available options. The arrow keys, in turn, navigate between all the options as they do when there is an option selected.

The pause debugger overlay option has also been added again, which appears over a page when the debugger pauses JavaScript execution. Along with this, a new drop-down menu button has been added to the bottom of the source code view in the Debugger panel, in order to design for Source Map-related actions.

O Firefox 125 is now available for download. Update your browser now and get access to new features!
