Five-year Arab summit tomorrow in El Alamein, Egypt, to discuss the region’s files

The city of El Alamein in northern Egypt will witness tomorrow, Monday, a five-year Arab summit that brings together the leaders of Egypt, the Emirates, Bahrain, Jordan and Iraq, according to Egyptian sources.

The sources said that the summit comes at the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi Within the framework of continuous coordination and consultation between these countries, in a manner that serves joint Arab action and pushes Arab relations to an advanced level to face the various current international and regional challenges.

The summit is scheduled to discuss the Palestinian cause, in addition to the joint economic projects file.

This comes as Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received at El Alamein Airport this morning, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, President of the UAE, and held bilateral talks with him on the region’s files.

Talks dealt with exchanging visions and views on international issues, regional security and the current situation in the Arab region. The importance of strengthening joint Arab action and Arab unity in facing the challenges the Arab region is witnessing and in order to unify all efforts aimed at reaching lasting solutions to crises in the countries of the region that contribute to laying the foundations of security and stability in them and achieving stability and peace for their peoples has been emphasized.

During the summit, views were exchanged on the overall political and economic situation at the regional and international levels, especially with regard to facing the repercussions of global conditions on the sectors of food security, energy and trade.
