Flight Nightmare: Mosquito Attack Delays Volaris Domestic Flight in Mexico

This is a totally crazy scene that happened during a domestic flight in Mexico. Dozens of mosquitoes attacked passengers on a crowded Airbus A321 plane, delaying its takeoff. The latter defended themselves as best they could. The situation is not new at Guadalajara airport.

Mosquitoes in the cabin of an airplane attack passengers seated quietly in their seats. The latter desperately try to avoid bites by using the leaflets available on the plane to crush the insects.

This happened last Friday, October 6, aboard an Airbus A321 of Mexican low-cost airline Volaris, which was on a domestic flight between Guadalajara and Mexico City, Mexico.

As the Mexican newspaper reports, Evening News , the flight was delayed by a few hours. Departure was supposed to take place at 4:32 p.m. to Mexico. The plane will not take off until two and a half hours later.

Fearful that the passengers would catch dengue fever, the crew tried to clean the environment with insecticides, but they only succeeded in making the mosquitoes more agitated.

This is not the first time that such a situation has occurred at Guadalajara airport, since in 2019, Mexican journalist Juan Manuel Jumenez shared on his X account (formerly Twitter) this video where passengers were using the flyers of aircraft safety instructions to keep insects away and try to prevent them from biting.

The interior of the cabin seems to be infested with the insect which, trapped, bites everywhere. In fact, there were a large number of mosquitoes on board, and the staff seemed overwhelmed by the situation.

Most of the blinds and windows are also closed, suggesting the plane was in mid-flight. The scheduled landing time of 4:30 p.m. was delayed to 7 p.m.

The area in which the airport is located is conducive to the proliferation of mosquitoes. It is particularly located near flood-prone areas with abundant vegetation.
