Mr. Bakaimis sent a request to a special laboratory in London, since in addition to qualified staff, he also has the necessary authorization from the manufacturing company of 12 of the 15 hard drives included in the case file. However, the process was allegedly delayed, since the consulate of our country, to which the document was initially sent to be translated and sent to the laboratory, allegedly replied that a specialized translator was required! The document was returned to the investigator, while in the end it seems that with the help of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he was immediately familiar with the specialized terminology required by the document.
The request-document of Mr. Bakaimis was sent on March 15 and with it he requests the recovery of the contents of a total of 15 seized hard disks from the loading at the Thessaloniki Commercial Station on 2-28-2023 of commercial train 63503, which was involved in the accident and movement, course and passage of it from the railway stations of Plateos, Litochoro, Leptokarya, Neo Poron and Rapsani, crossing that took place on the evening of February 28, 2023, between the hours of 21.40 – 23.18.

The NTUA expert is invited to take into account the results of the analyzes of the first, second and third sampling of the State General Chemistry of the train wreckage and the accident site, the expert report of the appointed judicial experts, who but they had found only silicone oil which does not justify the severity of the explosion according to the expert of the families of the victims.
In addition, he must take into account the initial and supplementary Autopsy and Fire Investigation Report of the Fire Service, as well as all the audio-visual material of the collision between the two trains.
Six basics questions
After studying all the evidence, the specialist expert is asked to answer six basic questions. The first four relate to the findings of the analyzes of the State General Chemistry and whether these are justified by the very composition of the materials of the analyzed samples, by the tax and other data – loading documents of the commercial train, by the construction materials of the passenger cars that collided , freight cars and electric cars, but also from the composition and the specific characteristics of the (silicone) cooling oil of the transformers of electric cars and collision trains.
The NTUA expert must provide an answer to the “fireball” phenomenon, as well as the mechanism that led to its manifestation, while the last question addressed by the investigator is whether it is possible to burn the cooling oil of the transformers of the electric cars of of colliding trains and under what conditions. It is noted that the expert opinion is requested in order to clarify the load of the two trains, since, according to the technical consultant appointed by the relatives of the victims, the explosion that followed the collision is not justified by the materials that the trains are said to have carried.
