Flyers humiliated in Boston

Like many teams before them, the Philadelphia Flyers suffered the humiliation on Monday in Boston, defeated 6-0 by the Bruins.

David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha both scored twice and added an assist to their respective records. In his 1,000th game on the league, David Krejci had three assists, while Brad Marchand hit the target and added another net.

The Bruins now boast a stellar 21-1-3 home record since the start of the campaign.

Jeremy Swayman turned aside all 29 pucks aimed at him to continue his strong month of January. In three games, all won by his club, he gave up only three times on 97 shots for a .969 save percentage. It was also his sixth career shutout.

At the other end of the ice, Carter Hart had a much more complicated exit. He allowed four goals on 16 shots and was taken out of the game by Samuel Ersson. The latter did a little better, blocking 11 shots.

Encore Tkachuk

In Buffalo, Matthew Tkachuk extended his streak to seven games with at least one point in a Florida Panthers 4-1 win over the Sabers.

Tkachuk was complicit in the first two goals of this duel, scored by Brandon Montour and Sam Bennett. He has five goals and 12 points in his last seven games, and 55 points in 42 games for the entire campaign.

Carter Verhaeghe reached 20 goals for a second time in an empty net, while Anton Lundell was the other player to beat Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, author of 30 saves.

Sergei Bobrovsky did well with 28 saves.
