Foiling my attempt to smuggle more than 2.9 million Captagon pills

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority in Saudi Arabia managed to thwart two attempts to smuggle more than 2.9 million Captagon pills, after they were found hidden in consignments that came to Saudi Arabia through the Empty Quarter and Haditha crossings.

The authority stated that it was able to thwart an attempt to smuggle 2,920,000 Captagon pills at the Empty Quarter port, after finding them hidden in consignments (electrical cables) received through the port, where the seized items were hidden inside the cavities of the cables.

It added that it was able, at the Haditha port, to thwart another attempt to smuggle 24,400 Captagon pills, which were hidden inside the “spindle” of one of the trucks coming through the port.

And it indicated that after the completion of the seizure operations, coordination took place with the General Directorate for Narcotics Control to ensure the arrest of the recipient of the seizures inside the Kingdom, where he was arrested, thanks to God.

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority stressed that it is continuing to tighten customs control over Saudi Arabia’s imports and exports, and stands guard against attempts by smugglers, in order to achieve the most prominent pillars of its strategy represented in enhancing the security and protection of society by limiting attempts to smuggle such pests and other contraband.
