The common union front calls on workers in the food trade, i.e. joint committee 119, to strike on November 15 and 22 in order to “obtain a purchasing power bonus”, it announced on Monday.

In the absence of an increase in wages, the government authorized, for the period 2023-2024, employers to pay a bonus to their workers if the company was in profit. According to the common union front, the employers of CP 119 only offer “peanuts”, that is to say, according to their calculations, a bonus of 75 euros for two years, amounting to 6 euros per month.

“It’s insulting to the workers”

“It is insufficient but also insulting for workers, especially when we know that shareholders were able to benefit from dividends of up to 4%,” criticizes Tangui Cornu, co-president of ABVV-FGTB Horval. “We are asking for 250 euros net for all workers, from the moment their company makes a profit,” supports Steve Rosseel, of the ACV-CSC.
