A little history

It should be noted that since its inception the presidency of the Sociedad Argentita de Diabetes, was occupied by prominent professionals and currently this function is in charge of Dr., Silvia Lapertosa, who is a professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the Notional University of the Northeast .

Diabetology in Argentina was born in the first half of the 20th century under the influence of two highly valued medical personalities, doctors Bernardo Houssey and Pedro Escudero.

During these years, the SAD has developed a continuous and fruitful educational activity, creating in 1975 a training school from which more than two hundred highly trained professionals have graduated, both in Argentina and in many Latin American countries.

Due to the social changes of recent years and in relation to the new trends in education, this initial structure was transformed in 2019, working together with the UNNE, into two complementary hierarchical educational instances; the initial and advanced higher diplomas in diabetes, which together comprise 480 hours of intense theoretical-practical work with the particularity of having practice centers in different prestigious institutions in different cities of the country. Counting in each of these with highly trained specialized teachers. The educational staggering in development makes necessary a superior instance that is expected to be achieved with the SAD-UNNE diabetes teacher.
