According to the Center for Environment, Geology and Meteorology of Latvia, the highest air temperature recorded in the country in the first month of spring was +20.8 degrees on March 30, 1968 in Mersrag. At the same time, the heat record for March 31 and April 1 is +19.1 degrees, which was recorded in 2010 in Rucava and in 2017 in Stand, respectively.
On Thursday there will be slight cloudiness, the southeast wind will intensify during the day with gusts of up to 10-15 meters per second, the air temperature will reach +12..+17 degrees. Only on the Kurzeme coast of the Gulf of Riga will the thermometer in some places not rise above +8 degrees.
Rain is expected on Thursday evening and Friday night, starting from the southwest of the country. On Friday, rain is forecast mainly in the eastern part of Latvia. The air temperature at night will not drop below +3..+8 degrees, and during the day in the sun it will rise to +9..+14 degrees, while on the coast with a moderate westerly wind only +5..+7 degrees are expected.
On Saturday night in many parts of the country, and during the day there will be rain only in places, the air temperature during the day will rise to +12..+17 degrees, and cool weather will remain in some parts of the sea coast.
On Easter Sunday the temperature will probably rise to +17..+22 degrees, it will be warmest in the south of the country. Summer warmth may continue until Monday, depending on the direction of the cyclones.
According to the current forecast of the Global Forecast System, next week the air temperature will drop sharply, and frost and snow are also possible.
