translation Exclusive: A Jewish clergyman, a Brooklyn rabbi and former yeshiva director, appeared in court on Monday in New York on charges of sexually abusing his underage female relatives, following spending a decade on the run in Israel.

Gershon Crunchzer, 67, appeared before Judge Jill Konviser of Brooklyn Superior Court handcuffed to his waist, according to the British Daily Mail.

The newspaper indicated that Crunchser did not speak during the hearing, and appeared weak, explaining that he is a 14-year-old father married to his first cousin.

She stated that he is accused of molesting one of the girls since she was eight years old, in August 1996, and a second girl was sexually assaulted from March 2001 to September 2002, when she was eleven years old.

She added that he was accused of sexual assault along with three of his children, one of whom was 15 years old.
