Guan Jinsong, the lead vocalist of the Hong Kong indie band AMK who once hosted the commercial TV cultural program “No Seating”, passed away last Friday night (2/24) at the age of 53.
AMK (Adam Met Karl), composed of Guan Jinsong (A Song), Mai Haishan and Xu Huichen, is the core representative of the Hong Kong independent music circle in the 1990s. His works “Please Let Me Go Home”, “Romance Is Your Nature”, “Candy” If the stars” and so on are popular among the small crowd, Zhou Guoxian once included a cover version of “Please let me go home” in his solo album. AMK also composed the music for Faye Wong’s “One Person Plays Two Roles”. After AMK was disbanded in 1996, Asong turned to write music and film reviews in different media, and founded Victoria Harbor Records in 2004. Ah Sung had been the host of the commercial TV cultural program “No Seating” for many years, but was fired in 2008 for being accused of being drunk while hosting the program. Yuan Zhicong, the music critic who replaced Ah Song as the host of “No Position”, posted a post on Facebook a few days ago to announce the news of Ah Song’s death, mentioning that the musician Ariane (Ouyang Yongkang), who co-founded the show with Ah Song, died on 3 Passed away on February 24 years ago.
