At the Gwangju City Party founding ceremony held at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center in the western part of Gwangju on this day, former representative Lee said, “I am a person who has maintained the Democratic Party for over 20 years without wavering even when the winds of the Uri Party and the People’s Party blow,” and added, “This time as well, I will protect the spirit and values of the Democratic Party.” “I ended up leaving the Democratic Party,” he said.

Regarding the current situation of the Democratic Party, former representative Lee said, “There is no possibility of a regime change in three years,” and “I believe that we must now look for a new alternative, starting from Gwangju.”
He continued, “The people of Gwangju and Jeonnam cannot tolerate the Yoon administration. “I think the opposition party should judge the Yoon administration and regain power three years later,” he said. “I will do my best to fight for Honam and the Republic of Korea.”
