Forum of the Alliance of Civilizations in Fez: weighty media coverage at the height of the event

Fez – The work of the 9th Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), held on 22 and 23 current in Fez, was marked by wide national and international media coverage commensurate with the scale of this event global.

The audiovisual media and the written press from Morocco and abroad flocked in large numbers to the spiritual capital of the Kingdom to cover this international event for the benefit of television channels, press agencies and local newspapers and international.

Thus, no less than 150 journalists, cameramen, photographers and editors, half of whom were foreigners, shared the specially designed press center inside the Marriott Jnan Palace in Fez.

Various media outlets shined their spotlight on the major issues of this global forum through articles, interviews and illustrated reports, reporting the details and behind the scenes of this UN meeting to the whole world.

Some six foreign news agencies covered the work of this forum, including the Spanish news agency EFE, AFP, APA and Anadol. Also present were many well-known television channels to the general public, including Al-Jazeera, Al-Arabiya, Sky News Arabia and the Spanish channel TVE.

MAP was at the forefront of the media outlets that covered the work of this flagship event, whether through its various dispatches or the continuous news channel “M24” and “Rim Radio”.

The African press, meanwhile, was present in force through many media, including the most important Africa 24 and TVGE.

On this occasion, Dario Mba Obiang, journalist at TVGE, said that this global forum brought together a significant number of journalists and media professionals from all over the world, highlighting the importance of journalism, in general, in the dissemination and news analysis.

Mr. Obiang further indicated that “the organization of this international event was, like all the demonstrations that I covered in Morocco, at the highest level”.

For her part, Maria Traspaderini, journalist with the Spanish news agency EFE, said that the Spanish media were keen to ensure media coverage of this event, which is co-sponsored by Spain and which arouses wide interest in this country.

The Spanish journalist indicated that the atmosphere inside the media center dedicated to the follow-up of this international event was good, adding that the journalists were able to cover the work of the forum in a comfortable way.

In the same vein, the Egyptian journalist Mohamed Hamida described the atmosphere in Fez as “wonderful”, noting that the reception of media professionals was at the highest level.

This international event was marked by the presence of more than 1,500 participants, including official delegations representing countries and governments, young people, associations and the media, in addition to the qualitative participation of the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres .

Also present were around 42 ministers, nine heads of regional and international organizations, as well as 12 former heads of state or government.
