France: Another attack on a minor outside his school – 2024-04-09 11:32:34

A 15-year-old boy is hospitalized in critical condition following an “excessively violent” attack he received yesterday, Thursday, near the high school he attends in the Paris region, in the latest spate of such attacks in France.

Authorities have launched an investigation into attempted murder and gang violence once morest the teenager near his school in the Viry-Châtillon district, in the southern part of the French capital. According to a police source, the 15-year-old was beaten when he came out of his school by several people, who then fled. No arrests have been announced at this time.

“The school must remain a sanctuary,” French President Emmanuel Macron said following the violent attack on the teenager.

Images from the municipality’s security camera system “may allow us to see more clearly what happened,” the city’s centrist mayor, Jean-Marie Villen, told BFMTV, who denounced “excessive violence that tends to become commonplace ».

When a fire engine arrived at the scene, the 15-year-old’s cardiorespiratory function had stopped and the teenager was taken to a Paris hospital in critical condition, according to the mayor.

This episode takes place just 48 hours following the attack on a 13-year-old girl in front of her school in a district of Montpellier, in the south of France. The girl, who was seriously injured, has since woken up from her coma.
