The internationally recognized and multi-awarded pianist, with a dynamic presence both in the Arab Emirates and America, as well as in Greece, Ioannis Potamousis, comes to Patras as a guest of the Classical Music Friends Club and promises us a special recital with a very bright and demanding program of works C. Debussy, E. Granados, F. Chopin and F. Liszt.

The recital will take place on Wednesday, April 10 at 21:00 in the concert hall of the Patras Conservatory Philharmonic Society.

Tickets cost 12 euros (general admission) and 8 euros (students and unemployed) and you can get them from the “To Doni” bookstore, Karaiskaki 147 (Everyday 11:00-17:00).

He has appeared in important halls in Europe, the Middle East and America. In Greece he has appeared with KOA in 2000 and also at the international festival of Symi. He has collaborated as a soloist with many orchestras: New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra, Collegium Music Koeln, the New Jersey City Symphony Orchestra etc.
During the period of his studies, he received important prizes in international competitions, eg the World Piano Competition in Cincinnati, International Piano Concerto Competition of NASO, New York. In Greece he has also been awarded the Mykonos prize in a piano competition organized by the Athens Academy in 1998.

Since 2015 in Abu Dhabi he is the co-founder of the concert series for young artists “Pollen-spreading the seeds of Music” and the artistic director of the competition of young artists under the auspices of NSO Abu Dhabi. He is a member of the jury of all the major piano competitions in the UAE including the Chopin Competition in Abu Dhabi, while he is also the Head of the Piano School at Brighton College, Abu Dhabi as well as a Professor of Piano at New York University Abu Dhabi.
