The City of Montreal will offer a free kit to new parents, “a little attention for families and wallets”.

The box, worth $200, will include a bib, a blanket, clothes and a toothbrush provided by local businesses. It will be available in the municipal libraries of Montreal from January 1st.
“We want all families to feel welcome in Montreal,” Valérie Plante said Monday at a press conference. The City is injecting $1.5 million into this project to “promote greater equality of opportunity”, “reinforce the sense of belonging of toddlers” and “above all because we are proud to be Montrealers. »

Approximately 20,000 children are born each year in the Montreal agglomeration.
The box is decorated with graphics that incorporate the visual elements of the Montreal coat of arms (lily, thistle, rose, clover and white pine) suitable for children.
