Veteran actor John Stahl, who played the Karstark patriarch in the popular series “Game of Thrones”, died in Scotland on the 2nd of this month at the age of 68.
His agent, Amanda Fitzalan Howard, confirmed the incident in an official statement on the 5th of this month, US time, but did not specify the cause of death: “He was a superb actor and a staunch supporter of Scottish theatre.”
After more than 30 years of debut, John Stahl was represented as “Game of Thrones”, and he played the head of the Karstark family in the second and third seasons of the series. Because of the loss of his beloved son in the war, he was violent and vented his anger on the Lannister family, and was finally beheaded.
In addition to classic works, John Stahl has also studied music and drama at the Royal Scottish Academy, and has also participated in many Scottish stage plays. He has also worked in the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre in London. The Scottish National Theatre issued a tribute to John Stahl: “We are fortunate to have worked with him on multiple plays. His passing is a huge loss for the entire industry and we will miss him greatly. Our hearts are with his loved ones.”
