The Indonesian General Election COMMISSION (KPU) announced the costs incurred by three pairs of presidential candidates (paslon) and vice presidential candidates during the 2024 election campaign activities. As a result, pair number 3 Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD spent the most money compared to the other two pairs.

Indonesian KPU member Idham Holik, in a written statement, revealed that Ganjar-Mahfud’s total expenditure for the campaign was IDR 506,892,847,566.66. This expenditure came from total receipts of IDR 506,894,823,260.20.

Meanwhile, pair number 1 Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar only spent IDR 49,340,397,060 out of the total received of IDR 49,341,955,140. Meanwhile, pair number 2 Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka spent Rp. 207,576,558,270 of the Rp. 208,206,048,243 received.

Idham said that election participants’ campaign finance reports consisting of the Initial Campaign Fund Report (LADK), Campaign Fund Contribution Report (LPSDK), and Campaign Fund Receipt and Expenditure Report (LPPDK) would be audited by a public accounting firm (KAP) appointed by the KPU .

“After receiving the 2024 election participant campaign finance reports, the KAP appointed by the KPU will carry out an audit of the reports received no later than 30 days from the time the KAP receives the campaign finance reports from election participants,” said Idham, Thursday (7/3).

Anies-Muhaimin, better known by the acronym Amin, submitted the LPPDK to KAP on February 28. Meanwhile Prabowo-Gibran and Ganjar-Mahfud both conveyed this on February 29.

Furthermore, Idham also revealed that PDI Perjuangan was the political party participating in the 2024 elections with the largest campaign expenditure, namely IDR 173,221,200,996. On the other hand, the Ummat Party only spent IDR 479,699,300 for its campaign needs. (Tri/Z-7)
