MPs get more money for disability care
A motion calls for the hiring of personnel in public establishments for the integration and renovation of La Combe. The Council of State follows.
Support public establishments for integration (EPI)? A motion tabled by Ensemble on the left asks for it. Debated Thursday evening shortly before 11 p.m., the text calls for the commitment of 18 additional people, an effort “necessary, explains the deputy Jean Burgermeister, in order to allow a satisfactory supervision of the heaviest cases sheltered by the institution, from here 2023 at the latest”.
According to the MP, the situation is serious indeed: “In May 2020, the PPE counted 260 violent incidents during the previous six months. A situation that reveals a potential endangerment, both of the staff and of the residents, that we cannot tolerate any longer”. Consequently, its text calls for an increase in subsidies to “finance all the services provided and fill the structural deficit”. He finally proposes to accelerate the renovation of the home of La Combe, valued at 35 million.
