Tourist company specializing in apartments Interhome Group has a list of the most frequently forgotten things in apartments during the ski season compiled. As a result, surveys were carried out in the local service offices of the holiday home agent in winter sports destinations in Switzerland, Austria and France.
1. Socks and underwear
Socks and underwear come first. The Interhome Group attributes this to the fact that people usually want to take a shower as quickly as possible after skiing. Because you then undress so quickly and go to the shower directly, the clothes are not taken care of directly – which means that they are lost more quickly. “By the time you leave at the latest, you should have all your clothes back find their way into the luggage – which often proves to be a somewhat difficult undertaking. Especially when it comes to socks and underwear that are distributed under the bed,” says the Interhome Group.
2. Tablet, laptop and charger
“Many holiday guests store their electronic devices in a safe place in their accommodation while skiing or at night. However, it is precisely this safe place that is skipped when packing», which means that the devices are often forgotten.
3. Ski equipment
One might think that ski equipment is difficult to overlook and therefore not forgotten. According to the Interhome Group, however, this is anything but rare. The travelers are usually tired when they leave after a day of skiing and want to go home as quickly as possible. “In this rush, parts of the ski equipment are often overlooked: from the ski poles to the boots to your own skis.”
4. Food
During the skiing holidays, the balcony can be used as an additional fridge. That is why it is also the place where food or drink bottles are most often left behind.
5. Sex toys and envelopes containing money
The Interhome Group is not surprised that people take sex toys with them on ski holidays: “It’s understandable that you take them with you on ski holidays, because it’s time to warm up after a cold day of skiing.” Furthermore, from time to time “envelopes with a considerable amount of cash” came to light during the cleaning.
