The intense rains in the Lambayeque region affected hundreds of residents of 11 districts who lost homes and crops after the overflow of the La Leche River. The rains also temporarily interrupted vehicular traffic. This was reported by the Ombudsman’s Office.
The head of the Lambayeque Ombudsman’s Office, Julio Hidalgo, pointed out that the towns affected by the rains are: Oyotún, Nueva Arica, Mochumí, Jayanca and Olmos, as well as Chongoyape, Lagunas, Pucalá, Pacora, Chóchope and Motupe, which They are characterized by housing a population mainly from rural areas.
