Saturday night, at the Bell Centre, Quebecer Sami Zain fought for the title of undisputed WWE Universal Champion in front of a raucous crowd. And fans went even crazier when they saw Kevin Owens, also from Quebec, make an appearance on stage.
We know how popular wrestling is in Quebec and in North America. But, could you imagine the commotion that would cause the arrival of a guy like Georges St-Pierre in the WWE, one of the most outstanding fighters in the history of the UFC?
I tell you right now, it would be completely monumental. And, what is interesting… is that there is a real possibility of seeing this scenario occur.
GSP was on site this weekend at the Bell Center and JiC (TVA Sports) took the opportunity to talk about the event. St-Pierre was asked if the WWE could interest one of these four, he who has participated in the production of a few films in recent years…
And the Quebecer did not hide that it is an intriguing idea that could go a long way:
I think I have the athletic qualities and now I’m taking acting classes. So I can do it. It’s just to learn the tricks of the trade which is still very long and to be 100%. – Georges St-Pierre
St-Pierre admits, however, that he would not necessarily be ready to embark on the project all year round… But that he does not close the door to performing ” some appearances ” from time to time. He notably told JiC that it would be an honor to meet Samy Zain and Kevin Owens who, as mentioned at the beginning of the article, are also Quebecers.
