Disagreements between Germany and Poland on the establishment of a joint maintenance and repair center for Leopard tanks used in Ukraine remained unresolved. This is reported by the newspaper Handelsblatt. At the moment, Germany refuses to provide such a measure of assistance to Kyiv.
“The FRG abandoned the idea of creating a center in Poland for the repair of tanks that were damaged during the conflict in Ukraine,” says in the newspaper article. They added that an official announcement of the reasons for the refusal would be made in the coming days. Germany believes that the Polish side exposes inflated price expectations, concluded in the newspaper.
Earlier it became known about the disagreements between the defense enterprises of Germany and Poland regarding service cost Leopard tanks for Ukraine. The Polish company is demanding more than 100,000 euros for “initial diagnostics” of tanks. In Germany, such works usually cost around 12,000 euros.
