Germany recalls thousands of Tesla cars for this reason.. These models are included

Germany’s traffic safety regulator has announced that it will withdraw Tesla electric cars Models “Y” and “3”, due to a glitch in the automatic emergency calls system believed to affect 59,000 cars globally.

The regulator, KPA, said on its website today, Sunday, that a software flaw caused the failure of the e-call service, which is used to automatically call emergency services in the event of a serious accident.

The authority added that 59,129 vehicles were affected by the defect worldwide, but did not specify the number of vehicles in Germany.

The bug adds more trouble to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, after the company said on Saturday that it delivered 17.9% fewer electric cars in the second quarter than the previous quarter, as the shutdown related to the “Covid-19” pandemic in China disrupted production and supply chains.

Musk said last month that Tesla’s new plants in Texas and Berlin were “losing billions of dollars” as it struggled to increase production due to battery shortages and problems with Chinese ports.
