Gianni Infantino, the president of the world football association Fifa, has quietly moved the center of his life from Switzerland to Qatar. And it’s not just him, his family has moved too. Two daughters are enrolled in school in Doha. Infantino had publicly denied the move for a long time. When asked, a Fifa spokesman now acts as if everything is old hat: “As announced in October 2021, the Fifa President has informed the Fifa Council that he will split his presence between Zurich, Doha and the whole world to fulfill his presidential duties and get closer to the World Cup.”
