Gjert Ingebrigtsen has watched his taxable fortune cut in half since late 2023, according to official tax records for 2025.
The financial documents reveal that Ingebrigtsen held a taxable fortune of over 8.3 million Norwegian kroner at the close of 2023. By the end of 2025, that figure stood at just over 4 million kroner. Despite the steep two-year drop, the latest total represents a modest six percent increase from 2024, when his fortune was over 3.8 million kroner.
Shrinking Incomes and the Aftermath of Court Proceedings
The decline in Ingebrigtsen’s earnings has been even sharper. In 2023, he had a taxable income of over 3.5 million kroner. Two years later, that figure shrank by 67 percent to land at just over 1.3 million kroner.
During the criminal trial in the Sør-Rogaland District Court in Sandnes last spring, Ingebrigtsen testified that the legal proceedings damaged his income. From the witness stand, he described an unsustainable financial reality, stating that he had sold off assets and suffered an 80 percent reduction in income.
The public fallout began in October 2023, when three of his children, Jakob, Filip, and Henrik, published an op-ed accusing their father of long-standing abuse. The public disclosure prompted a police investigation that ultimately led to an indictment covering allegations concerning his son Jakob and daughters, while charges regarding other children were dropped.
The Verdict and Ongoing Financial Claims
In the spring of last year, the district court acquitted Ingebrigtsen of the alleged abuse. However, he was convicted of assaulting his daughter with a towel during a heated argument, a charge he denied. The court handed down a 15-day suspended prison sentence and ordered him to pay 10,000 kroner in damages to the daughter.
Following his acquittal, Ingebrigtsen submitted a formal compensation claim against the state earlier this year. Neither Ingebrigtsen nor his defense attorney, Heidi Reisvang, have disclosed the total sum demanded, and the Norwegian state has likewise kept the figure confidential. Ingebrigtsen declined to comment on the release of his 2025 tax figures.
