Nearly 15 million people have joined Global Bible Month, a 30-day initiative bringing together ministries, Bible apps, and retailers to encourage daily Scripture reading. Psalm 119 describes God’s Word as a lamp for my feet and a light on my path.
A Second Year of Urban and Digital Expansion
The campaign enters its second year with prominent displays in high-traffic urban centers and active involvement from corporate partners including Walmart and Hobby Lobby.
The month-long movement utilizes both physical texts and digital platforms to place the Bible at the center of daily life, drawing nearly 15 million participants to date. Organizers have coordinated hundreds of specialized reading plans tailored for the event.
Times Square and Piccadilly Circus Activations
Bobby Gruenewald, founder of the YouVersion Bible App, noted that the 2026 campaign expands its public footprint to some of the world’s busiest hubs. Activations are currently on display in Times Square and Piccadilly Circus in London, putting biblical text directly into major international thoroughfares.

Surging Traffic and Daily Engagement
The global push coincides with continued momentum for digital Bible engagement. Following a milestone year in which YouVersion surpassed one billion total app downloads, platform traffic has climbed further. Daily usage has risen 13%, attracting approximately 18.5 million visitors each day.
The Search for Truth Amidst Digital Noise
Gruenewald attributes this ongoing growth to a cultural shift driven by the rise of artificial intelligence, suggesting that modern users are actively seeking what can be trusted and what is true amidst an influx of digital content.

He pointed out that terms such as anxiety, hope, and healing rank among the platform’s most frequently searched queries this year, indicating that individuals are turning directly to Scripture to navigate personal challenges. Gruenewald added, That’s encouragement to me, just because there’s a lot of places you can turn to in these types of moments, but the fact that people are turning to God’s Word, I feel like, should be an encouragement to all of us.
