Gone to Morocco to look for his son, he was sentenced to 8 years in prison

Morocco, Belgium, Marc Moerman,

A 57-year-old Belgian engineer traveled to Morocco to recover his kidnapped son, but he himself is now sentenced to 8 years in prison: “He is innocent! The evidence is there”.

He left for Morocco at the end of last year to recover his kidnapped son. Nine months later, Marc Moerman (58), from Bruges, is himself in prison. Last week he was sentenced to eight years in prison after his ex-wife filed a sexual abuse complaint against his daughter-in-law and son-in-law and their common son.

The man himself cries out his innocence and no longer knows where to turn. ” What do we have to do ? The medical certificates, drawn up by Moroccan doctors, prove that these are lies. But it’s word for word,” sighs his sister. Minister Van Quickenborne (Open Vld) is following the case.

Marc Moerman has been locked up in a Moroccan prison for 10 days now. “There are fights there at night, it’s a real racket,” says his sister. “My brother suddenly told me where exactly his will was. I asked him why. But then the connection was broken. »
