Goudiry: the new prefect wants a better exploitation of the economic potential

Goudiry, Jul 12 (APS) – The new prefect of Goudiry (Tambacounda), Awa Ndiaye Diop indicated on Tuesday that he had measured the extent of his responsibility in the milestones of exploiting the potential of this department of the Tambacounda region.

“I measure with serenity the extent of the responsibility incumbent on me and intend to show myself worthy of the trust placed in my honor”, she said during her installation.

“The department of Goudiry has enormous potential to be exploited given its geographical position”, indicated the former assistant to the governor of Louga, in charge of administrative affairs. She was appointed head of the Goudiry department to replace Amadou Coumba Ndiaye, redeployed to Guinguinéo (Kaolack).

Prefect Awa Ndiaye Diop stressed that the erection in 2008 of Goudiry into an administrative district, the youth of its population and its geographical position are all parameters to be taken into account to meet the challenges of its development.

Welcoming the commitment of her predecessor, she is delighted with her return to the region where she took her first steps in territorial administration as deputy governor in charge of development.

The governor of the region of Tambacounda, Oumar Mamadou Baldé noted that the experience of the new prefect of Goudiry in the territorial administration allows to say that she has all the assets to succeed in her missions.

“Her journey is reassuring. She is one of those young civil administrators who reinforce the adage that for older souls value does not wait for the number of years”, he testified.

The head of the regional executive of Tambacounda also praised the sacrifice, the determination and the commitment of the outgoing prefect for the department of Goudiry.

”Amadou Coumba Ndiaye marked Goudiry’s life by becoming aware of the missions and responsibilities entrusted to him after his departure from the governance of Tambacounda as deputy governor in charge of administrative affairs,” Baldé said.
