The governor of Durango, Esteban Villegas (PRI) praised President Andrés Manuel López Obrador by describing him as “the greatest transformer in the country” whose six-year term, he said, “will remain engraved in our hearts.”
During the work tour of the head of the Executive, where the state president heard loud squawks against him, Villegas wished the President of the Republic a successful close of the six-year term.
“Love is paid with love and your presidential mandate will be engraved in our hearts forever. You President will be remembered as the president of the people and as the greatest transformer in modern history in Mexico,” he said.

Looking at the head of the Executive, Villegas told him that Durango will always have its doors open even if he is no longer President of Mexico and that he would have liked to meet López Obrador before to “fight together with you for many years.”

After his words, the thousands of citizens gathered at the Durango Sports Center thundered with boos and loud whistles.
After his speech, when asking his supporters not to whistle at him, President López Obrador defended the work of Governor Villegas and said that he is a leader who cares about his people.
