Vienna (OTS) – The Viennese member of parliament and municipal councilor Niki Kunrath is protesting once morest the possible deportation of Eren U. to Turkey tomorrow.
Eren U. is a well-integrated Kurd living in Vienna who wanted to get married soon, but is currently in detention pending deportation in the Hernals police detention center. The hearing on the legality of his detention pending deportation will take place tomorrow.
“Eren U. may face torture and imprisonment if he is deported to Turkey as a politically active Kurd. I call on the responsible authorities immediately to grant Eren U. a stay in Austria for humanitarian reasons,” said Niki Kunrath, human rights spokesman for the Greens in Vienna.
