FORMER Indonesian badminton player Greysia Polii praised volleyball player from Jember Megawati Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi who is currently in the spotlight in the Korean Volleyball League, V-League 2023/2024 because of her brilliant play.

“After playing tennis, I immediately watched Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi compete in the Korean Volleyball League. Indonesian pride,” said Greysia via a story on her personal Instagram account, @greyspolii.

This praise is very understandable. Megawati played sensationally in the V-League. He was even able to record a number of historic records with his team, Daejeon Red Sparks, such as returning the Red Spark to the playoffs after not entering for 7 years.

For personal achievements, Megawati made history as the first foreign player from Asia to win the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in the first round of the 2023/2024 V-League.

It didn’t stop there, Megawati was successfully selected to join the all-star team in the Korean volleyball league, which is an annual special event. She also became the first player to compete wearing a hijab in the South Korean Women’s Volleyball League.

In the match, Megawati also performed brilliantly. His 11 consecutive serves in one match ranked second in the list of consecutive serves in Korea.

Now Megawati and Red Sparks are preparing to face Pink Spiders in the playoffs. If the Red Sparks succeed in beating the Pink Spiders in the playoffs, Megawati and her friends will again wrestle with Hillstate, the team that Megawati beat with 11 consecutive serves. However, there is still a long way to go.

The Red Sparks and Pink Spiders match will consist of three matches. Red Sparks will visit the Pink Spiders headquarters on Friday (22/3) for the first match. Then on Sunday (24/3), it was Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi and friends’ turn to host the Pink Spiders in the second match.

Meanwhile, the third match will only be held on Tuesday (26/3) at the home of the Pink Spiders if the aggregate shows a draw. However, if one of the two teams wins two matches in a row, that team will advance to the final to face Hillstate. (Z-3)
