The Spanish coach, Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola, believes that Vincent Kompany is destined to be the technical director of the Cityz in the future.
Legendary former Man City captain Vincent Kompany is set to make an emotional return to his old club later this month, but as manager of Burnley, to play in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
Guardiola said: “We are all here and the fans are happy to have him back.. He will return sooner or later. He wrote his destiny to be a coach for Manchester City already in the stars.”
“It will happen, I don’t know when but I’m pretty sure it will happen,” he added, according to what was reported by the British newspaper The Sun.
Kompany .. the “ideal” departure
“This is my feeling, maybe I’m wrong,” Guardiola said. “He has attributes, work ethic, knowledge of the game, respect and experience.”
“It is very difficult to do what he did and he does a really good job. He knows the club, the environment, the fans and what our people need. Destiny is there.”
It is noteworthy that Kompany spent 3 years in charge of the Belgian club Anderlecht after leaving City, but it was the mission he carried out with Burnley that really caught the eye.
Burnley seemed almost guaranteed to play in the Premier League again next season, as it is 12 points ahead of second-placed Sheffield United and 19 points ahead of third-placed Middlesbrough, in the English Championship club ranking table.
Guardiola added: “I am impressed with the consistency.. The Championship is very difficult considering the number of matches they play in the competition.. The consistency is incredible.. They are close to being promoted to the Premier League next season and I personally am happy with his success, and what they are doing at Burnley.”
“It’s an FA Cup quarter-final, a great chance to reach the semi-finals again at Wembley. We’ll try to compete against Vinnie and his team.”
