Romeo Vucic has emerged as one of the standout shooting stars in the Austrian 2. Liga during the opening weeks of the season, prompting immediate transfer interest from German club Hansa Rostock and clubs in Serbia, Fussballeuropa.com reported.
Blau-Weiß Linz currently sits at the top of the Austrian 2. Liga standings following a crucial 1:0 away victory against Austria Salzburg last weekend. The club remains firmly on track to achieve a direct return to the Austrian Bundesliga, largely driven by the attacking contributions of Vucic.
During the top match in Salzburg, Vucic provided the decisive assist for the game’s only goal. This performance further elevated a reputation that has steadily grown across Upper Austria since his arrival from Austria Vienna earlier this year, following a successful loan spell at Grazer AK.
Hansa Rostock and Balkan Suitors Monitor the Forward
Clubs are already making moves to secure the 23-year-old forward. In Germany, Hansa Rostock has registered active interest in the Linz standout, offering a potential path back to top-flight football next season. Meanwhile, the Wolfsberger AC coaching staff, recently taken over by Manfred Schmid to lift the club out of the Bundesliga relegation zone, is regularly tracking Vucic’s development.
Interest has also surfaced across the Balkans. FK Cukaricki, currently sitting sixth in the Serbian league table, views Vucic as a viable target for a future transfer step. The Vienna-born player holds family ties to Serbia, which could facilitate a move to the region.
Production in the Austrian Second Division
Since joining Blau-Weiß Linz, Vucic has established himself as a lethal finisher in the second tier. He has recorded six goals and four assists this season, accumulating ten direct goal contributions—matching the output of Voitsbergs Fabian Schubert.
