Exclusive translation: The oldest person in the world celebrated his 113th birthday in Venezuela, explaining that the secret to his longevity and health is due to drinking a cup of cane sugar every day.

Juan Vicente Mora turned 113 on Friday, May 27, less than two weeks following he was officially declared the world’s oldest male by Guinness World Records.

Mora, who has an astonishing 41 great-grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, says he starts each day with a cup of coffee, while also drinking a glass of juice made from sugarcane.

He advised Mora to work hard, rest on holidays, go to bed early, drink a glass of cane every day, and love and carry God always in your heart.

One of Mora’s friends stated that doctors said his only health problems were slightly high blood pressure and hearing problems due to his age, as he is not taking any medication.
