Luis Emiro Cuesta Abadía, alias el Chocoano, accused of murdering his partner and two stepchildren with a kitchen knife, turned himself in to the authorities as a result of the social pressure generated by this atrocious act.

This man, for reasons that are still unknown, mercilessly attacked his wife Emperatriz Itachi Linares Fernández, 32, and killed her, as well as the two children aged six and 11 who lived in the same house.

‘El Chocoano’ committed the triple crime at night and slept in the same room with the bodies of the three people he stabbed to death.

The next day, very early, he bathed, changed and left with his clothes in a bag, leaving the house secured with a padlock.

At the end of the day, a sister who went to visit Emperatriz discovered the tragedy. Then, when she forced the door and entered, she found the woman of Venezuelan nationality with her son hugging her, bathed in blood and without vital signs. The girl was also dead on the ground.

Data of the designated

Immediately, the Police were notified, which, together with the CTI, began the search for Luis Cuesta throughout the city.

However, by that time the man had left the capital of Magdalena for Riosucio, Chocó, where he is from.

The reactions and pronouncements that unleashed the three homicides, as well as the stalking of the authorities, ended up causing “el Chocoano” to decide to turn himself in at a police station and accept responsibility for the triple crime.

The man, after being deprived of liberty, was transferred by helicopter to the municipality of Apartadó, Antioquia, and made available to the Attorney General’s Office.

Protest against the crime that occurred in Santa Marta

The student community of the Ondas del Caribe school, where the two minors studied, held a march this Thursday to reject the event and ask for justice to be done.

At the demonstration, it was learned that Luis Cuestas was often in charge of taking and picking up Emperatriz’s two children at the school.

“Apparently, they seemed to have a good relationship. We never imagined that he could commit any action against their lives”, said Lwding Caicedo, rector of the educational institution.

The manager revealed that, additionally, Cuestas has three other children studying at the same school that he had with another woman.

“We repudiate this fact. It is very sad and unfortunate that two children who were very diligent and cheerful have ended up killed by their own stepfather. We hope that justice will be forceful with the person responsible, “explained the rector.
