Revealed Ragab Shehata, President Rice Divisiondetails of the availability of rice in the markets; With the advent of the month of Ramadan within two weeks, stressing that there is no crisis in the availability of this commodity throughout the year in the markets.
He said, during a telephone conversation with the media, Azza Mustafa, presenter of the “Al-Tahrir Hall” program, on the “Sada Al-Balad” channel, that the prices of white rice in the “Welcome Ramadan” exhibitions are cheaper than barley rice. Confirming that it is present and available, and there is no crisis in rice.
He added that rice is available throughout the year, stressing that the imported rice will arrive in the middle of this month, and supply rice will be brought in from abroad, denying that the market will witness any shortage of rice throughout the year.
It is noteworthy that Ragab Shehata, head of the Rice Division of the Chamber of Grain Industry in the Federation of Industries, said that the Ministry of Supply moved to confront the rise in tons of rice and announced a tender for the supply of imported rice, explaining that, successively, 50,000 tons of supplies will be provided every week.
And Ragab Shehata added, during a phone call to the “evening dmc” program, presented by the journalist Ramy Radwan on the “dmc” channel, today rice was provided at 14 thousand and 500 pounds per ton, but the most important thing is that there will be stability in rice prices, throughout the year and there will be no rise. In the case of continuous import and fixation of the declared quantities, explaining that a kilogram of first-class rice in wholesale costs 23 pounds.
