Heavy rain and hail in eastern Switzerland

The cantons of Zurich, Thurgau and Appenzellerland were particularly affected. In the last 24 hours, 59.3 millimeters of rain fell in Tänikon TG. In Wiesendangen ZH it was 55.2 millimeters, in Urnäsch AR 37.2 millimeters and in Winterthur 34.5 millimeters.

At the same time, more than 540 lightning bolts discharged in the canton of Thurgau. After the storm clouds have cleared, a strong breeze will set in, especially in the west. In the afternoon there are brightenings. During the weekend the weather will be a bit friendlier.
