Major General Muhammad al-Sharif, Governor of Alexandria, said that the degree of preparedness and emergency has been raised in all executive agencies in the governorate at the neighborhood level, to deal with the warnings of the General Authority of Meteorology, which indicate that the governorate is exposed to a wave of bad weather and moderate rains.

The governor instructed the heads of neighborhoods and all concerned executive bodies to intensify the field presence around the clock to follow up on the repercussions of the current crisis, and to monitor any emergency cases for immediate action in order to avoid any problems in any area as a result of the rains, and to ensure that traffic flow is achieved in all the streets of Alexandria.

He explained that the governorate’s operations room continues to convene permanently and continuously, in order to deal with any emergency crisis, as the room receives all complaints of citizens regarding the accumulation of rainwater.

The governor referred to circulating a set of recommendations and warnings to citizens to ensure their safety and security, foremost of which is the need to exercise caution and caution, and to stay away from any trees or signs, lighting poles and high pressure, and to help rainwater suction vehicles to move easily and smoothly, and to avoid driving at high speeds in cars and maintaining a safe distance.

Alexandria Governorate appealed to citizens to exercise caution and follow the following instructions to preserve their safety: exercise caution in driving during rain, and drive only in extreme necessity and with great caution, and reduce movement by cars, to allow rain water pumping vehicles to move easily and smoothly, and avoid driving at high speeds in cars that exceed 60 km, and maintaining a greater safety distance than usual, not standing under old and dilapidated balconies, not staying in open places during the occurrence of lightning, not approaching fences, metal objects and railways during the occurrence of lightning in order to avoid the risk of electrocution, and not parking cars On rain sheds, and not to park cars under or in places where trees might fall, and numbers of emergency rooms and hotlines to receive communications from citizens in Alexandria Governorate: the governorate’s operations room 24 hours a day for emergency and urgent complaints, and on the hotline 114 from the landline, and the hotline of the sewage company 175.
