Philippe Mievis, from MeteoBelgique, unveiled his seasonal trends for the three months of meteorological summer. He returns to the drought to which Belgium was exposed. It certainly rained in May, but… “The rains and storms at the end of May didn’t really put the dryness of the soil behind us”, he summarizes. “Indeed, intense but short-lived rains tend to run off into the sewers rather than penetrate the ground. That said, the current drought is mainly a surface drought. It has nothing to do with that of 1976 for example”.
For the month of June and there, its forecasts are qualified as “high” in terms of reliability. And what do they say? That the heat will gradually return to us. To follow its trends for years, this is the first time that a decade has been colored red. These are the last ten days of this month.
