“The sudden and brutal increase in temperature makes the system in the stratosphere, 50 kilometers above us, completely confused”, explains meteorologist Frank Deboosere to our colleagues. “In a few days, the temperature can rise by several tens of degrees, going from around -80 degrees to 40 degrees. And if this happens, it is the harbinger of a cold snap that could hit our country within four to eight weeks, ”adds the expert.
Such a phenomenon occurs about every two years, say meteorologists.
