Hermès on Isle d’Espagnac: 250 jobs expected, a new building on the horizon

It is the agglomeration of Grand-Angoulême which has just announced it. The Parc de Bel-Air will host Hermès on a 4.1 hectare site. A 6,000 square meter single storey building will be constructed. “Particular attention has been paid to the environmental and landscape quality of this establishment”, says the press release from Grand-Angoulême.

500 jobs in two workshops. Recruitment and training needs that will be massive. The luxury leather goods maker Hermès announced this morning the opening of two new workshops. Including one in the urban area of ​​Angoulême, on Isle d’Espagnac. The second will open in Gironde, in Loupes. The Charente workshop is announced for 2025. In total, the two sites will employ 500 employees.

The manufactures of L’Isle-d’Espagnac and Loupes will constitute the 23rd and 24th leather goods workshops of the house, all located in France.

The Isle d’Espagnac site will be associated with leather goods from Montbron, Nontron in the Dordogne and the glove factory of Saint-Junien in Haute-Vienne.

Hermès moved to Montbron in 2012, before ramping up in its own premises in 2015. A training center, which hosts around a hundred apprentices, also opened last November in the Charente commune.
