The police in the Herstal area decided to check a vehicle after it, which had a French license plate, had fished out another car. But the motorist, determined to flee the police, then engaged in a chase and committed an offense of malicious obstruction of traffic.
The man who was born in 1997 then tried to continue his run, but was eventually caught by law enforcement. Investigators discovered a cloth bag that contained a telescopic baton as well as several pacsons of cannabis.
Known to justice
The suspect was known to the courts and had already been convicted. He was also under probationary measures for possession of narcotics and malicious obstruction of traffic.
The young man who lives in Herstal was therefore deprived of his liberty and brought to the Liège public prosecutor’s office on Monday. His file has been placed under investigation and an application for an arrest warrant has been made against him. Note that the suspect was under the influence when he was intercepted.
