Hilton has just announced in a press release the signing of an agreement for the opening of the Canopy by Hilton Tangier Bay. The inauguration of this hotel is scheduled for 2026. It will mark the launch of Hilton’s lifestyle brand, Canopy by Hilton, in the city of Tangier. “Canopy by Hilton is growing across Africa as we expand the brand into new destinations and showcase vibrant neighborhoods of Tangier, Cape Town and the Seychelles. The signing of Canopy by Hilton Tangier Bay reinforces our commitment to growing Hilton’s portfolio in Morocco, where we plan to double our presence in the coming years.” In terms of numbers, Canopy by Hilton Tangier Bay will offer 110 rooms and suites with distinct design and personality.
“The hotel will house three dining venues, including a Canopy Central concept that will be the hotel’s social hub. The property will also offer amenities such as an indoor and outdoor pool, spa, fitness center, and flexible meeting and event spaces for small gatherings or large celebrations,” the Hotel Group says. With its location between the Mediterranean coast and the Atlantic coast, Tangier is one of the largest industrial centers in Morocco and presents many places of cultural attractions such as the charming medina of Grand Socco, the Kasbah museum, installed in an ancient palace and the legendary Caves of Hercules.
Not far from this new hotel is the Mirador Ghandouri, a well-known vantage point for the sunset. “The Canopy by Hilton Tangier Bay will position itself as a true reflection of Tangier’s distinct culture, offering guests the experience of a home away from home while offering a fresh approach to guest stay.
